5 Best Fast Camp Meals for Newbie Campers
Your adventures friends invited you for a camping trip, but you are more of a Netflix at home type of a person.
You have to say yes because you still want them to like you (and we all need friends), but as a newbie camper all you can think of is “what will I eat there?”
We know that feeling. This is why we gathered the best five ideas for fast camping food and drinks. You just casually tell your friends about these great fast camp food ideas.
1. Instant Ramen
Most successful entrepreneurs tell in their biographies how they lived of ramen when they didn’t have money. Well, we totally believe them. It is super affordable, fast to make, and most of all -- delicious. These yummy noodles can be used as a main course or as a side dish for grilled veggies or meat. Mix in whatever sauce you like, and imagine like you are in your favorite Asian restaurant.
2. Instant Oatmeal
We started with a lunch/dinner option, but let’s not forget about the most important meal of the day -- breakfast. This is the time you want to spend the least amount of time cooking, and more time waking up. Instant oatmeal packets are great for you to cook a nutritious breakfast and fast. Most oatmeal products include fiber, protein, zinc, healthy fat, and much more vitamins to fuel your body for the day ahead. We recommend mixing in some berries, nuts, and honey.
3. Instant coffee
Let’s stay focused on your breakfast. Morning in the campground is the worst time (camping is fun!). Everyone is smelling like a bonfire, complaining they had to wake up too early, and want someone else to be responsible of cooking breakfast. Well, if you want to be remembered as the hero that contributed in these hardest moments, offer to be in charge of coffee making. Bring Waka Coffee packets with you, boil hot water and… that’s it. Just boil hot water and serve this tasty coffee. It is made of Arabica beans and freeze dried, so your friends will not believe you made it so fast.
4. Instant Pancake mix
Either for breakfast or dinner, it is so easy to make these fluffy heavenly pancakes on the go. Pour a mix into a bowl, add water, and eggs mix (because real eggs will not make it until dinner in your backpack), and stir it all together. Pour it into a small pan above your bonfire, and then into a plate. Add maple syrup, sprinkles, and you are all set.
5. Grilled veggies
Ok, we had enough instant food and now get eat some veggies. Another easy meal for camping is pre-cut vegetables grilled using the bonfire. Lay out 2 sheets of tin foil on each other, add the veggies, olive oil, salt and pepper. Place it above a medium height fire for about 5 minutes. We recommend buying pre-cut veggie mixes (to save your time while on the campground). Use onions, mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, and cherry tomatoes for best yummines to functionality ratio.
We think you can live of at least these meals. Bring bunch of snacks, water, and enjoy your camping trip!
