Simple Iced Oat Milk Instant Coffee Latte Recipe
It can be a burden on your wallet to always get the additional milk substitute at coffee shops. We have the perfect recipe for you to not break the bank when trying to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.
We understand that many people are trying to reduce their intake of animal products, and we are doing our best to do that ourselves! The coffee market has adapted so well into this transition into non-dairy products. Whether you choose non-dairy milk for health, ethical, or any other reasons, we know it’s important to find one that doesn’t overpower the subtleties of your ritual coffee.
Dairy free alternatives can be a bit intimidating, especially since there are so many out in the market now. It can be difficult which one is perfect for your brew. You can choose from soy, almond, cashew, oat, or flax seed.
We chose oat milk as the non-dairy alternative because of the similar texture to milk. It has a subtle, sweet flavor and a rich essence, which makes it perfect for traditional hot beverages like lattes and mistos. Because the taste is delicate and the body is velvety, it foams to perfection and blends smoothly with the taste of espresso and added syrups. Due to the combination of blended oats and refined thickeners, processed oat milk is notable for not separating in beverages. This makes it the perfect add in for all your favorite iced drinks such iced coffees, lattes, macchiatos and blended refreshments.
Recipe: Oat Milk Latte
Ingredients:
- 1 cup oat milk
- 1 cup of ice
- 2 tablespoons of Waka Coffee
- 4-6 fl oz of hot water
- 1 tablespoon of sugar (if you like it sweet)
Instructions
Mix instant coffee with the hot water to create a nice concentrate! This will enhance the flavor of the latte.
Add the sugar and mix until the sugar dissolves.
Pour the oat milk into a container with a lid and shake it up until it gets frothy. If you have a hand held frother, you can use this as well, but we love the subtle arm workout (If you enjoy your lattes hot, steam or warm up the oat milk).
Combine the instant coffee and oat milk with ice, creating a decadent iced oat milk latte. Feel free to add cinnamon powder on top if you like it.
We paired our oat milk latte with vegan banana bread as an afternoon treat. Try this recipe and tag us @wakacoffee, we love to see your creations.
