How to Make Boba Milk Tea with Whipped Coffee

What is Boba Milk Tea?
Boba milk tea, or bubble milk tea, is a tea-and-milk-based drink that originated from Taiwan. The main feature of the drink is the boba, or the chewy tapioca balls.
Just like coffee, milk tea is one of the most versatile drinks in the world. While there are no exact recipe for the drink, it can be made from a variety of different types of teas. For example, black tea, green tea, and oolong tea are all popular teas used in boba cafes.
Boba milk tea can also be made from a variety of different types of milk. The most common options are half and half and sweetened condensed milk.
What is Whipped Coffee?
Whipped coffee, or Dalgona coffee, is a type of coffee made by whisking equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. It becomes a creamy coffee mixture that is often added on top of a glass of cold or hot milk.
Boba Milk Tea with Whipped Coffee Recipe
Ingredients
Brown Sugar Coffee Boba
- 1/2 pack of tapioca pearls
- 3 tbsp of brown sugar
- 1 tsp of Waka instant coffee
Milk Tea
- 1/8 tsp of Waka instant tea (black)
- 1/4 cup of hot water
- 3/4 cup of milk
Whipped Coffee
- 2 tbsp of Waka instant coffee
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 2 tbsp of hot water
Instructions
Cooking the Boba
- Pour boba pearls into a pot with boiling water.
- Let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Or until all cooked and floating on top of the water.
- Remove cooked boba and soak in cold water.
Making the Syrup
- In a small saucepan over low heat, add sugar and boba. Mix until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Add instant coffee and stir until dissolved.
- Transfer syrupy boba into a bowl.
Making the Milk Tea
- Mix Waka instant tea with cold water.
- Add your milk of choice.
Making the Whipped Coffee
- In a medium bowl, combine Waka instant coffee, sugar, and hot water.
- Using a hand mixer or a whisk, vigorously whisk until the mixture turns silky smooth and frothy.
Putting the Drink Together
- Add ice and boba syrup to a large cup.
- Pour milk tea over ice and stir.
- Slowly pour whipped coffee over the top.
- Enjoy!
