What is Dirty Chai?
Dirty Chai:
A Dirty Chai is a mix of coffee and chai tea, named “dirty” chai because of the addition of coffee muddying up the color of the tea.
It is usually made with a concentrated chai tea, a shot of espresso, and steamed milk or cream (this is, therefore, a latte). Simply put, dirty chai drinks are a chi latte with an added shot of espresso, which makes it a perfect halfway drink for those who cannot yet handle a strait up coffee drink but are a little bit past the tea and blended drinks.
A chai tea is made with black tea, cinnamon, clove and other spices. This drink is gaining popularity, as the chai tea latte is becoming increasingly popular, especially around the holidays.
